Board Members Present: Julie Travis, Tina Miller, George Rutherford, Matt Robertson, Margery Briggs, Marilyn Danielson, Julie Diorio
Chamber Members Present: Tammy Beson, Wanda Urie
Meeting called to order at 8:05am , Quorum present at 8:13 am
Approval of Agenda: Amended to rearrange for schedules, George R. moved to approve, Julie seconded.
Quorum present at 8:13 am
Approval of Minutes from Jan.19, 2005 meeting, Julie moved to approve, George R seconded.
Review & Approval of Treasurer's Report: Julie moved to accept, Kathy seconded
Review & Approval of 2005 budget: George handed out the PACC proposed budget for 2005 and explained , Kathy moved to accept and Margery seconded
Officer Elections:
President - Matt Robertson was nominated, Julie moved to accept, Tina seconded
Vice President - Julie Travis was nominated, Matt moved to accept, Tina seconded
Treasurer - George Rutherford was nominated, Tina moved to accept, Kathy seconded
Secretary - Tina Miller was nominated, Matt moved to accept, George R seconded
Committee Reports:
Communication & Promotion
Working on getting portlandareachamber.com on all publications.
- The Chamber Guide is progressing , possibly slow due to the price increase
from last year. Currently there is 13 ads confirmed in the book so far.
There is 2 weeks till the deadline.
- Tammy Beson is talking to some possible new members, Reed & Hoppes and the
Lions Club.
- The R&O Member Profile price will remain the same for the chamber which is
$280. a month
- Welcome Wagon needs business advertisement stuff by the end of February,

Membership
- Need of a list of non-members to contact
- 36 people in attendance at this years Annual Dinner
- Awards were handed out to the following Chamber Members:
Citizen of the Year - Terry Schrauben
Business Person of the Year - Tina Miller
Director of the Year - Kathy Parsons
- The idea of a trifold brochure of Portland Area Chamber Business's to use
as a member to member discount guide
Organization & Finance
- Harvey said he would help with the WillowWood golf outing
- We have an abundant of 2004 Christmas Ornaments left.
- George R is checking with the Ionia Chamber on Health Insurance benefit
for our members
- We need to check to see if we have a licensing agreement for selling
merchandise
Ambassadors:
- Margery is planning a Grand Opening for Two River's Counseling
- The Boardwalk completion is expected for next spring, they are waiting on
permits.
Programs & Activities
- Nominations are open for Grand Marshall, need it in writing.
- Legislative Lunch is scheduled for the 2nd Monday of March
- Riverfest meeting changed from March 2 to Wed. ,March 9 at 11:30 at Wagon
Wheel
- Huntington Bank put there name in for volunteering for the riverfest.
New Business
- Bill Waters from DBI Business Interiors out of Lansing brought some
products prices & catalogs. They will deliver at no charge, chamber member
discounts, same day service available, online ordering and kickback
incentives.
George R. made a motion to implement agreement with DBI offering a chamber
member discount, Kathy seconded.
- Spring Fever on Mainstreet will be held on April 15 & 16. Musical
Festival and Art show coming in June.
Old Business
-St Pats held a day for Locks for Love and had a great turn out.
